Lady Antebellum, Arcade Fire Come Out on Top at Grammys

Lady Antebellum, Arcade Fire Come Out on Top at Grammys

It was a night full of great music and amazing entertainment at the 2011 Grammy Awards. From Lady Gaga's egg-ceptional arrival to Cee Lo Green and Gwyneth Paltrow's Muppet-inspired performance, music's biggest night provided plenty of amazing surprises.

Case in point: Country music crossover trio Lady Antebellum took home the most statues, raking in five of the six awards they were nominated for, including record of the year and song of the year, for their smash "Need You Now."

"We just cried our eyes out backstage," Antebellum's Charles Kelley said on stage while accepting the award for record of the year. "I can't believe we're standing up here again."

Rock group Arcade Fire also shocked the audience by picking up album of the year for The Suburbs, beating out Gaga, Katy Perry and Eminem. But Em didn't go home empty-handed. The rapper, who performed earlier in the night with Rihanna and Dr. Dre, won for best rap album for Recovery.

"Okay, this is crazy," he told the crowd, who gave him a standing ovation. "Thank you to the fans."

Lady Gaga, who performed her new single "Born This Way" (after arriving to the ceremony encased in an egg!), picked up the best pop vocal album award for The Fame Monster, while Justin Bieber got bested by Esperanza Spaulding in the best new artist category.

As for the performances, Christina Aguilera gained back plenty of respect, after her Super Bowl fumble, with a powerful tribute to Aretha Franklin. And 62-year-old Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger proved he can still rock, by tearing up the stage in a tribute to the late Solomon Burke.
